This half-day session focuses on how to maximize student learning by organizing space and materials effectively and by implementing clear, consistent rules, strong instructional routines, and procedures. Ways to increase engagement and maximize instructional time is also addressed. Participants will develop a good understanding of how to promote high levels of success by providing explicit instruction with modeling, scaffolding, and multiple opportunities for practice with immediate and corrective feedback. An overview of grouping students for instruction and scheduling whole and small group instruction is also incorporated. This is an excellent session for the start of the school year to ensure that all staff have a common understanding of effective instructional approaches.
